I voluntarily abide by the Code of Practice of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders. What would this mean for you as my customer? This is your assurance of receiving a professional quality service based on established best practice. This covers good communications between you as client and myself as supplier, establishing a clear brief, agreeing deadlines, and with the expectation of high quality workmanship.
Summarizing sections 7-11 of My Terms, charges are normally based on either a fee per hour, per printed page, per total word count or an agreed flat fee for a given job/project. A review of any fees and/or deadline may be required if it becomes apparent that the complexity or scope or material nature of the work differs significantly from that discussed and agreed to as part the original brief, or if the client requests changes in the scope of the work to be undertaken at any time. For long duration projects I would invoice periodically for completed stages.
I do offer a discount for students and for charitable work.
